Where Are They Now — Priscilla of Living Farm Australia

One of the quiet joys of Flower School is watching what unfolds after, when students return home, back to their soil, their seasons, and their own way of working with flowers.

Today, we’re sharing the story of Priscilla Hamilton, founder of Living Farm Australia, based in Greenridge, NSW. Priscilla grows and designs seasonal flowers straight from her own fields, creating work that is deeply connected to land, rhythm, and care.

From Growing to Believing

Before attending Flower School, Priscilla had already spent two seasons growing flowers. She knew how to nurture them in the field, but what she needed was confidence.

Confidence to take the next step.
Confidence to sell her blooms.
Confidence to trust the quality of what she was growing.

She joined the 10-day intensive floral design school knowing that her flowers were beautiful but unsure whether they were good enough to share beyond the farm gate.

One moment during the course changed everything.

As part of Flower School, the students purchased flowers from the Brisbane markets to arrange with. Standing there, working with those blooms, Priscilla had a sudden realisation the flowers growing back in her own fields were of a superior quality.

That simple comparison shifted everything.

It wasn’t just about technique or design it was about belief. Belief in her land, her growing practices, and the quiet excellence she had been cultivating all along.

Immersion, Community, and Coming Home to the Field

One of Priscilla’s favourite parts of Flower School was stepping away from the everyday, immersing herself fully in learning, alongside other growers and students who shared the same curiosity and love for flowers.

Yet one of her biggest surprises was how much she missed being out in her own fields during those days.

That longing became a gift. It confirmed something she already felt deep down that growing flowers is, and always will be, her first love. Design became an extension of that, not a departure from it.

Life After Flower School

Since completing Flower School, Priscilla has continued to grow and expand her flower patch, with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence.

The course gave her the assurance to sell her flowers knowing they were properly conditioned, thoughtfully designed, and offered with excellent vase life and true quality.

She began by supplying bouquets to a local gift store, but over time her work evolved. Today, Priscilla focuses solely on custom orders for her clients, alongside DIY buckets for events.

She also creates casket arrangements for funerals and celebrations of life a deeply meaningful part of her work.

“To be trusted with flowers at such tender moments is incredibly special,” she shares. “I feel honoured to play a small part in flowering people’s worlds.”

Reflections for Future Flower School Students

When asked what she’d say to anyone considering Flower School, Priscilla’s advice is simple:

Just do it.

“It’s a small investment that could take you on a journey to exactly where you were always meant to be. Jess teaches every aspect of floristry, while encouraging you to discover your own unique path with flowers.”

And when it comes to favourites?

Roses, without question.

“They’re resilient, generous, and have a way of making every bouquet feel extra special.”

The Power of the Flower World

Through flowers, Priscilla has found more than a business, she’s found community.

“The flower world is such a supportive and encouraging space to learn, grow, and be inspired,” she says.

And perhaps that’s what this Where Are They Now series is really about, not just skills learned or businesses built, but the quieter flowering that happens when people find their place, their people, and their confidence.
